On the 11th March 2012, Twisted Cider will be taking part in the Bath Half Marathon to raise money and awareness for Cancer Research

On a hot summers day last year the Twisted Cider staff were celebrating a good days takings when they collectively decided they were going to use the power of their household name to raise money for their favourite charity Cancer Research. Marketing official Shane Green survived a close shave with skin cancer, spotting well publicised signs early on, no doubt stopped the illness becoming life threatening. More recently the Spring Farm dog Rolo died ultimately from liver cancer. Spring Farm in Dorset is where Twisted Cider manufactures their annual batch. Although Cancer Research doesn't directly aim to battle cancer in animals there is no doubt that any break through will filter down to veterinary clinics in good time.

After a short brainstorm and a look at upcoming events it was decided that we would assemble a team of four runners to carry cider press the length of the Bath Half Marathon, handmade by Papa Whitlock. An application was made to create an official Guinness World Record. Sadly they would not recognise the achievement as it is too similar to an existing record. As luck would have it the organisers of the half marathon welcomed our proposal with open arms and can't wait to see us transporting our exhibition about the narrow streets of bath.

As I type these words I suspect the chosen four are pounding the streets, shaping up for what will always be a tough challenge and a magnificent achievement. With courage in their hearts, cider in their bellies and the cheers of well wishers the Twisted Cider team with give it their all.
